The Five is considered the Lord of the Noumenal Order, because it is at the connecting point for all the numbers. It is indeed a pivotal number, affecting all around it with a subtle, yet profound effect.
Five is the number of communication and connectivity. Its symbol is the Cheops Pyramid, and its power is that of ancient Egypt in that within the vibration of the Five lies mastery of the psychic forces.
This is the number of communication, and is governed by Zinc, the pervasive element that is intrinsic to every living cell. The Five personality is broad and persuasive, often seen prominently with entrepreneurs, architects, movie directors, and all other fields where many people have to be coordinated to achieve a goal.
They are not the builders, but the organisers. They are not the thinkers, but they get what others have said, and can translate lofty ideals into a pragmatic approach. Fives are often motivators and trainers.
As a child the Five is a little sparkling jewel, but always ready to turn their angelic faces to mischief if, and when, the opportunity arises. Opportunity is always seen as a gift from the heavens, and not to be missed, thus little Five's often get their whiskers burnt on various nefarious adventures.
They are also dreamers, like the Two child, but they like to fit their dreams into some framework that is meaningful to them, We find the young Five will dream of flying above the ground, and thus in that moment choose to be a pilot. Of course, the next dream might change the goal to being one of a fireman, but this is not the point! The Five child’s dreams give purpose to their lives, for however long.
The Five child is gregarious and full of laughter. They love to be centre stage, and will often organise theatrical performances for friends and family. They are very easy to work with, and have little stubbornness that will not respond to reason. They are often fair haired, and need lots of fresh foods, in particular those containing the Potassium, Phosphorus and Zinc their bodies, as a rule, crave.
The psychology for the majority of Five individuals involves a great need for recognition. This is not to be confused with approval, the Five basically thinks they are OK, but recognition for the Five affirms in them an essential sense of emotional balance.
The Five tends not to be a thinker, rather they rely on instinct, which rarely lets them down. However, if the Five energy does start thinking too much about things, they will become quite clumsy and constantly put their foot in their mouth in social situations. This is prevalent during puberty.
Five's do not like to see things unconnected or broken. They are the ones who will pull the broken clock apart to see what the problem might be, yet not be able to put it back together again. But they will still put everything back into the case and shake it, in the hope that the miracle will occur.
They are forever hopeful, and even when they grow up, have the lurking suspicion that there is a Santa Clause out there, somewhere. They can be chatterboxes, and will happily talk to plants, birds, anything that they think is alive. Often, they will get a secret reply, that they will tell you about if you ask nicely. Young Five's tend not to be afraid of much.
Storms excite them, spiders intrigue them, but if they are worried about something, they will likely be phobic about it. They get sullen with authority, mostly because authority is a one-way street, and allows no room for communication. Because of this they can be quite rebellious at school and university, but this natural rebellion serves them well as a rule, for it gives them a new perspective on things.
Fives like to work WITH power, but tend to be uninterested in actually wielding it. For example, they will often co-ordinate many strong personalities on a football team, acting as a manager, but they would not like to actually be the person who OWNS the team. They are more communal in their outlook, and generally prefer the concept of sharing to that of ownership.
Five women are generally very sensitive to others feelings, and many work as clairvoyants and tea ladies. Five is a volatile number. This means tempers can flare, yet they will remain malleable, and be able to integrate with other viewpoints. They resonate easily with all other numbers, and like a mimic, they will pick up the traits of anyone they are
in a close working, or personal relationship with. Women are particularly sensitive, by virtue of their more yielding nature, and thus have to be very careful with whom they associate. This empathy can be disastrous if they associate with evil minded souls, and can lead to a sense of isolation.
It’s the cucumber principle: If we put a cucumber in a jar of pickles, one day we will look about, and there will only be pickles in the jar. So it is with the Five in particular that they should be careful in choosing friends, and parents of Five children should take care with whom they associate.
Their malleability makes them desirable companions, and Fives generally do well in marriage situations, but are generally completely flummoxed when the partner wants to leave. It rarely occurs to the Five to leave a stable relationship. If there are difficulties, they will happily take on an external affair, but divorce is not a process they enjoy.
But when they do divorce, they really know how to enjoy themselves. Characteristically this immediately causes the old partner to become jealous and want them back. But Five’s rarely turn back the clock. Fives, for all their apparent whimsy, are very forwardly orientated.
They like to progress, to forge new ground, to make new friends. They will not so much as forget the past, rather they will remake it into an image they prefer to see. If it was a bad experience, it will almost always be seen in the light of what has been learned because of it.
A good experience, by the same token, can become overburdened with nostalgia.
The Five wife is a wonderful soul, but don't expect the house to be too clean. They are usually organising the local church raffle or chatting to the teachers about how the kids are coming on at school, and are too busy to worry overmuch about a little dust. They are clean, but not fussy, and go by the proverb "An immaculate house is a sign of a wasted life".
Usually, people with like numbers do not get on so well in a marriage, but the Five is the exception. (along with the more developed Eight's and Nine's) The Five nature is so easy going, as a rule, that they can get on with almost anyone!
Five men can be real career types, always on the look out for the better title, even if no more pay goes with it. In this way they can be quite impractical, dragging a family from city to city on the climb to the top, and then not feeling quite pleased when the big job is landed. This is actually a symptom of instability in the emotions.
This is a fatal Five failing, one that cause huge problems on the home front and in their personal life.
The energy of the Five man can be severely affected by poor health, so they must take care of it, and ensure that there is a holiday each year. Generally, though, the real cause of ailments with the Five is introversion, and especially sexual guilt. Fives tend, or wish, to be somewhat promiscuous, but social upbringing usually convinces them that it is “wrong” even when their nature says it is “right”.
Instead of accepting their nature, they often have several marriages. However, because of divorce proceedings and property settlements this generally means they stay poor. Again, it is really based in the misunderstanding of the emotions, and this is, in reality, the only major fault with the Five nature. But there is also a truly negative Five.
The Five energy is so affable in their outward personality that the really negative, power mongering aspect of the negative Five stays so well hidden that few suspect it even exists. This, if anything, is the great failing for most Five's: That they simply cannot deal with real power until they are quite highly developed.
Many Fives are drawn to politics because they truly see that can help others, but with success that old contradiction between success and service arises and this usually puts a twist into their ambitions, making them quite avaricious, and sometimes malicious.
There is a truly dark side to the Five. Perhaps more so than the other numbers because even the native is often unaware of what lurks in the depths of his own subconscious. One of the major lessons of the Five involves delving into, and seek to understand, their unconscious needs and drives.
As a result of this, we find many psychiatrists and psychologists vibrate to the number Five. Also, we will find many hypnotists and stage magicians carry this vibration as well. Indeed, all of those with a fascination for the inner workings of the mind often have a Five somewhere in their chart.
However, the truly negative Five is rare indeed. Usually, it is a vibration that loves to bath in undue attention, and is often given this because the number lies at the crossroads of one of the Twentieth Centuries greatest difficulties, that of matching our need for compassion with our drive for success.
The Five is also at the crossroads of another traditional conflict area, the need for emotional love as opposed the desire for the perpetuation of our personal will.
Neither of these apparent conflicts could hope for a resolution without the Five's communicating ability, and we will often see in an individuals matrix the pattern of the cross that signifies the working out of these conflicting desires. If we consider deeply the above two paradoxical situations, we will see reflected in them much of man's present set of woes. Which will lead us to an appreciation of how important the Five is.
In the 21st century the energy moves from this “cross” to one of every increasing malleability. In spiritual terms, the Astral Plane is starting to mix with the physical, and those who can bridge this gap will be important in business, politics and social situation. The new energy is one of cooperation and coordination, both of which are natural to the Five energy.
This condition will survive for 300 years.
In all the Five nature could be considered the "glue" of the Noumenal Chart. Because of this, many choose to represent it as the Spiritual Force, but this is really best represented by the Six.
