Positive Characteristics:
Four’s are disciplined, strong, stable, pragmatic, down-to-earth, reliable, dependable, hard-working, extracting, precise, methodical, conscientious, frugal, devoted, patriotic and trustworthy. Distinct urges for adventure.
Negative Characteristics:
Four’s pay for their stability and pragmatism by tending toward the boring side. This will express itself with a lack of imagination and compassion. Fours can be careless in appearance, and their social awkwardness can make them seem vulgar, crude or jealous. Gambling is a serious illness.
The vibration of the Four is often greatly misunderstood. This is the first stable point in the Noumenal Flow, and indicates solidarity, organisation and physical world capability. Yet underneath the apparent steadfastness many Four's are extremely emotional individuals needing constant reassurance.
Four children have a wonderful humour as a rule, and are content to play for hours unattended, but they need to know someone is about. They will work hard at school, usually going on to some form of higher learning, but if not, they will move into substantial trades that require the use of hands.
Many Four's are accountants, instrument makers, computer repairers and operators. They generally work as efficient support people. We also find many Four people in the armed forces, as this suits their need for regimentation. They make excellent soldiers.
The Four woman is a solid organiser at home, often running her own little business or doing odd jobs to help pay the bills. She needs constant reassurance that everything is alright, and is often a devout believer in faith-based religion and/or charitable causes.
The lady running the local party plan outlet is most often a Four, or working with the Four vibration, as is the woman who runs the local child care centre. They are pragmatic and capable, yet also somewhat distrusting, which colours their view of life.
Indeed, it is the major failing of the Four, in as much as the natives tend to be quite judgemental. This appears to contradict their naturally warm and humorous personality. Making fixed judgements give the Four a sense they are on solid ground. As I stated, the Four has an essential insecurity, and this can drive them in odd directions.
The curious psychology of the Four is that they cannot trust themselves.
So often they hide behind well tailored suits and well organised lives, living in the better suburbs, yet all the time they can possess this fear of some terrible creature inside themselves. Often this simply is a sexual need unfulfilled, but all these negatives come about is because the Four simply cannot bring themselves to open up the shutters, and ask another for the experience which they crave.
This gives a tight knot in the stomach, and you can actually feel this in so many who are negatively affected by the vibration. In physiological terms the Four vibration, in its need for solidarity, will often put a clamp on the expressive part of the personality, which places stress of the Vargus Nerve, thus creating tension within the sympathetic nervous system.
Naturally, when the individual learns to fully express themselves this knot goes away. Thus we find many actors and performers, particularly those in the circus (as this provides a family atmosphere) are actually Four's. It is the secret wish of every accountant to live some exotic lifestyle, and this is the key to understanding the Four, they exist on two levels, but the condition is not schizophrenic, it is more agoraphobic.
The Four man suffers his whole working life, or trying to give this impression with the sour look on his face, because no-one seems to be as bothered with getting the details right like he does, and he is constantly having to check and recheck everything in the office files.
We often find inspectors, tax officers, accountants and money people in general vibrating to the Four. And yet we will also see firemen, crop dusters, lumberjacks with the same energy. Why? They have learned to express themselves in different ways, but generally one will be introverted and the other extroverted. Introverted Four’s tend towards office and money, Extrovert Four’s tend towards adventure and outdoors.
The Four vibration tends to accentuate polarisation of the personality.
As a further note on the somewhat obsessive nature of the Four, you will often find them in gyms as budding body builders, even the girls! However, once the focus is lifted out of the physical world, the Four personality becomes a dedicated and genuine follower of any path they choose, never giving up or giving in to disappointment as a rule.
This cannot be stressed too much, for the Four personality has more than an inner and outer person, it has a higher and lower as well. (Get it, four sides?) If the focus is on the higher aspects of life; Ideals, Truth, Compassion, etc. then they will progress with remarkable ease in a spiritual sense.
This is because, at heart, the Four is methodical. Method and dedication always have greater success than plain talent in this and all the lower worlds. Those with what are considered higher order numbers can learn a lot from the apparently lowly Four.
Spiritually speaking, Four is the number of the common man and is represented by the element of Fire, with Three being Water, Two being Air, One being Earth, and Five being Spirit or Essence.
We also see the Four Seasons, the Four Winds, the Four points of the compass, etc. The Four is a major number in the forming of patterns, and is the base of the physical universe. The mineral it vibrates to is Carbon, the linking atom of life, which gives us a clue to the inner nature of the Four.
The lessons involved with the Four vibration are to do with getting on with others. The destiny involves sharing and holding a non-judgmental attitude. Its symbol is the square.
At present there are very few highly evolved Fours on this planet, simply because they have so much natural affinity for the common things of man that they simply do not overmuch seek out the higher aspects. However, those who do lift up their eyes to the heavens achieve spiritual greatness, for they can apply the principles of focus, building and achievement to all they touch, thus creating a solid platform for spirit to build upon.
